Radiology is a branch of science that deals with the use of X-rays and other imaging methods in medicine for diagnosis and treatment. In general, some of the diagnostic and therapeutic methods within the scope of Radiology can be listed as radiographic examinations, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine methods, Mammography, and ultrasonography. These methods can be used for both diagnosis and treatment purposes. The branch of science that includes the use of radiological modalities for treatment is called Interventional Radiology. Interventional Radiology is a new and modern branch and it is the fastest growing science not only in Radiology but also in all medical branches. On the other hand, diagnostic radiological imaging constitutes the main source of information for many surgical interventions.
